The project was a Design and Construct contract with 12 weeks critical duration from contract award to practical completion.

Apart from the tight programme, the projects main challenges were the existing structure, acoustics from surrounds and the restrictive access through the high traffic retail areas. Works included coordinating the full interior design and construct including engagement of all associated services consultants and structural, acoustic engineers. In order to achieve programme, the actual office relocation of BHP Billiton’s Training Centre was also conducted by Credentia.

The centre accommodates approximately 70 full-time staff and has the facility to train up to 300 people on a daily basis through the use of operable and moveable wall systems coordinated with an extensive AV integration package.

The centre is situated on Perth’s largest single commercial floor plate at the time of 3000m on level 3 of an existing Forrest Place retail development.

The project was also the recipient of the 2012 Master Builders Association Award for “Best Building Fit-Out”.
